This is a pack event to support and recognize cub scouts that have completed the Arrow of Light requirements and are ‘crossing over’ to Scouts BSA. Additionally we will also recognize our other Scouts’ progress on their advancement by awarding the most recently earned belt loops or pins.
We hope that you all will be able to attend the event to recognize our Scouts’ hard work and achievements!

Pack 10 will be going to “Cubs Under the Stars” overnight camping event at Ockanickon Scout Reservation April 1-2. Program summary:
7:30 a.m. check-in
9:00 a.m. program start
All packs will be assigned a campsite, but must bring tents, camping gear, meals, & cooking equipment.

Cost is 15$ per attendee to be paid by attendees to the pack 4/1. Pack will pre-register everyone as a group and pay in advance so you must sign-up here with the total number of attendees below. Please sign-up or reach out by 3/15 as registration closes 3/19 or when the event is sold out.
All meals will be provided, Saturday light breakfast, lunch, dinner and light Sunday breakfast. everyone will need to bring a tent/sleeping bag and other camping items. We are looking for volunteers to plan/organize meals. If you are interested in planning a meal please reach out to Bjorn Sayers at bjorn.sayers@gmail.com (pack will pay for supplies and I will try to do one store run for everything).
This is a family camping event and each scout will need an adult partner for the duration of the program.

sPack 10 will be hosting an Ice Cream Social for the 2023 Blue and Gold ceremony at the Pavilion at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Friday, March 24th at 6:00pm – 7:30pm.
We have activities and games for the scouts as well as ice cream and toppings. Popcorn Sales leaders will also have the opportunity to pie their den leader in the Face! Please register in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Pack 10 Hiking club will be going on a casual hike at the nearby Five Mile Woods Preserve on Sun, March 12th at 1:30pm.
Join us for a family friendly hike on the relatively flat trails at this great local park. While the trails are partially decked, bring proper footware and expect to get muddy shoes if there has been a recent rain.
Scouts should come prepared and have their 6 essentials.

Pack 10’s 2023 Pinewood Derby will be held on Friday, February 10 at Crossing Community Church!
Volunteers Needed!
The Pinewood Derby is one of the Pack’s biggest annual events, and we need a team effort to make sure that our event runs smoothly and that everyone has a great time. Specifically, we need parent volunteers to fill the following roles:
– Starter
– Decorating committee (2)
– Cleanup Team

Please join us Saturday, January 21st at 1:30 pm for our next Pack 10 Hiking Club event. This time we’ll be hiking the trails of Churchville Nature Center. We’ll meet at 1:30pm (between the parking lot and the front of the nature center) and hike for about an hour. Trails are light to moderate intensity.
As always, please remember to bring the Cub Scout Six Essentials (filled water bottle, trail snack, sun protection, and first aid kit).
At the end of the hike, please feel free to check out the nature center which has a few live snakes/lizards, and several exhibits of local birds and fauna.
Note: they are having a special Weather Weekend event described
here that is $6 a person (for nature center entry, not the hike)

Mark your calendars for our next Hiking Club event on Sunday, December 11th at 6:00 pm. This event will be an “Owl Hike,” and we will walk the Delaware Canal towpath by the light of the full moon.
As a reminder, all Scouts who hike 25 miles or more over this Scouting year will receive special recognition at our end-of-year event in May.
What to Bring:
– Scouts and other attendees should be sure to pack the Cub Scout Six Essentials: First Aid Kit; Water; Flashlight; Trail Food; Hat; Whistle.
– Sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Please also dress for the weather: Be Prepared!
Route:
We will be hiking along the towpath and keeping an eye out for nocturnal wildlife and also seeing what constellations we can locate. We’ll hike for about 30 minutes out, and then back the same way, and will have the official distance tally at the end of the hike.

– As always we’ll be observing the Outdoor Code and Leave No Trace Principles on this hike.

Pack 10 is invited to march in the Veteran’s Day Parade on Saturday, November 5th at 12:30pm.
The parade will march down Edgewood Ave and conclude at the Veteran’s square.
This is a great opportunity for our Scouts to show support and learn more about the experiences and service of our veterans.
Scouts should wear their Class A uniforms to this event.

Join Pack 10 for our fall cleanup event at Edgewood Elementary School on Saturday, November 5th. We will be raking leaves in front of the school and cleaning up our landscape beds. This will be a great chance for our Scouts to give back to the community and to show their school – and Scout spirit.
Bring your own rake and gloves, and snacks – and if you have a leaf blower, please bring it! We are also in need of pickup trucks, landscaping trailers, or minivans to haul the bagged leaves.
Scouts should wear their Class B uniforms (Pack 10 t-shirt) to this event.
