Pack 10 Hiking club will be going on a casual hike at the nearby Five Mile Woods Preserve on Sat, January 8th at 1pm.
Join us for a family friendly hike on the relatively flat trails at this great local park. While the trails are partially decked, bring proper footware and expect to get muddy shoes if there has been a recent rain.
Scouts should come prepared and have their 6 essentials.

Mark your calendars for our next Hiking Club event on Friday, December 17th at 7:00 pm. This event will be an “Owl Hike,” and we will walk the Delaware Canal towpath by the light of the full moon.
As a reminder, all Scouts who hike 25 miles or more over this Scouting year will receive special recognition at our end-of-year event in May.
What to Bring:
– Scouts and other attendees should be sure to pack the Cub Scout Six Essentials: First Aid Kit; Water; Flashlight; Trail Food; Hat; Whistle.
– Sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Please also dress for the weather: Be Prepared!
Route:
We will be hiking along the towpath and keeping an eye out for nocturnal wildlife and also seeing what constellations we can locate. We’ll hike for about 30 minutes out, and then back the same way, and will have the official distance tally at the end of the hike.
Other Info:
– As always we’ll be observing the Outdoor Code and Leave No Trace Principles on this hike.

Join Pack 10 for a bike hike next Sunday, November 7th at 9 am on the Delaware Canal Tow Path!
We will be meeting at the Yardley Park and Ride parking lot and go for an out and back bike ride of ~40 mins.
All participants must wear helmets when riding and should bring water / snack.

Pack 10 is invited to march in the Veteran’s Day Parade on Saturday, November 6th at 12:30pm.
The parade will march down Edgewood Ave and conclude at the Veteran’s square.
This is a great opportunity for our Scouts to show support and learn more about the experiences and service of our veterans.
Scouts should wear their Class A uniforms to this event.

Join Pack 10 for our fall cleanup event at Edgewood Elementary School on Saturday, November 6th. We will be raking leaves in front of the school and cleaning up our landscape beds. This will be a great chance for our Scouts to give back to the community and to show their school – and Scout – spirit.
Bring your own rake and gloves, and snacks – and if you have a leaf blower, please bring it! We are also in need of pickup trucks, landscaping trailers, or minivans to haul the bagged leaves.
Scouts should wear their Class B uniforms (Pack 10 t-shirt) to this event.

Help setup the pumpkins along the canal and clean up the pumpkin carving.
This is a great opportunity for the scouts to fulfill their service requirements.

Join us at Crossing Community Church (80 Lower Silver Lake Rd, Newtown, PA 18940) to help Pack 10 welcome our newest Scouts as they cross into the Pack and earn their Bobcat rank! Families are invited to camp overnight and we will have a campfire, skits, dinner and other treats.
Please RSVP by Sunday, October 10, so that we have an accurate headcount for food, and let your Den Leader know if anyone in your family has any dietary restrictions.

Bring your hammer for this next hike at Ringing Rocks County Park on Sunday, October 3rd at 1 pm.
Ringing Rocks park an eight-acre geologic wonder, the Ringing Rocks boulder field consists of primordial igneous diabase boulders that resonate when struck by a hammer. Bucks County’s largest waterfall is also here.

Kick off the Scouting year with Pack 10 as we camp at Tohickon Valley Park! As always the Pack will provide dinner and breakfast.
We will be at Group Campsite 1 at the Deer Wood Campground (171 Cafferty Rd, Pipersville, PA 18947)

Please join us this Saturday, September 11th at 1:00 pm for our next Pack 10 Hiking Club event. This time we’ll be hiking the trails of Churchville Nature Center. We’ll meet at 1pm (between the parking lot and the front of the nature center) and hike for about an hour. Trails are light to moderate intensity.
As always, please remember to bring the Cub Scout Six Essentials (filled water bottle, trail snack, sun protection, and first aid kit).
At the end of the hike, please feel free to check out the nature center which has a few live snakes/lizards, and several exhibits of local birds and fauna.
